You do realize that there is no such thing as Assassin's Creed 5? 3 was the newest one. Granted, it was the fifth AC game, but no one, and I mean NO ONE calls it AC V.

On a subject other than high-heeled Mechs and assassins of mass-slaughter, I just got Halo 4 for my birthday yesterday.
To say the least, it's even more awesome than anticipated. Unlike with Halo: Reach, I have yet to find a weapon in the game I won't readily pick up and use. Assault Rifle received a massive overhaul in general deadliness and has actually climbed up to being one of my top favorites, despite easily being the one gun I hate most in the other games. I also find it delightfully enjoyable to employ the Incineration Cannon's sheer power to the end of vaporizing grunts and savor just how "overkill" it is.
Ehh, enough about guns. The Mantis was great fun, and is probably gonna take its place as any Mech fan's favorite vehicle in the game.
By the way, I'm having trouble trying to get Spartan Ops and War Games from Disc 2 downloaded. My console's memory unit doesn't have enough space, and I have no clue what Cloud is or how to use it (though if it requires an Xbox Live Gold membership I can out-rule that option...). Any help?

Well as far as general computers go the Cloud is a place on the interweb where you can store files and access them so they don't take up space on your computer. An example would be games, like DayZ, that save your items online so you can play the same character in any server. I think Steam has a service like this but I don't for sure. I've got no idea how it works with Xbox, sorry.

That's classic. *Anvil* (If you haven't seen ASDF Movie watch it on YouTube.)
Anyways, so far ACIII (as in, the stabby one) has been pretty sweet, but I'm still in the multiple hour long intro before I get to be Connor (the main protagonist for the game) where you play as who I assume is his father, Haytham Kenway. So I can't really say whether it's good or not, but there are a few missions where I was feeling cooped in, like there was so much more game to play and I was stuck in a tiny corner. But the next mission you got to run about in the frontier (more or less the Kingdom from ACI) and track someone through the snow via the trail they left in it, which is pretty darn cool.
Some stuff I've discovered so far (I'm playing on my PS3): - You actually have to explore below ground in the fast travel tunnels to unlock them - You can pet animals (ie, scratch a dog under the neck or feed a pig some carrot) as a way of avoiding suspicion - Haytham cannot climb trees, he just falls out of them, so don't waste your time until you're Connor - It takes ages to reload a musket which adds a nice tactical element and to be honest the hidden gun was a bit OP in Brotherhood and Revelations (don't know about ACII) - The melee combat feels smoother and more enjoyable to me - You can play mini-games (which are based on actually boardgames from the time) to win cash and they're actually fun (be warned that I enjoy the odd game of chess IRL) - I find myself hitting the wrong button to do something, like using triangle for eagle vision, because that was what you did in the old games - I've approached ACIII as a new game and I made sure not to expect to be running around with all Ezio's abilities after the first hour, this work out well and I recommend this approach
This is just stuff I that you probably wont find in actual reviews and you should probably read a few if you want to know the big stuff.

Personally I think the assault rifle has become more obsolete than it ever was before. It's handy in the Campaign mode, but in matchmaking it's ehhhh... The DMR and Battle Rifle have rightfully taken their places as the #2 and #3 weapons in the game, with the SAW in first of course. Sadly, (in matchmaking) almost all the good short range weapons have become obsolete as well. *sigh* I'd better start working on my headshots.
I TOTALLY agree with you on the Mantis. It is completely superior to anything else on the battlefield, pretty much. Goodbye Scorpions, hello Mantis!

Looks like it could be fun so long as there's more depth to it than what I can see in the trailer. I never did get the point of space fighters transforming into mechs, though. I mean, it's space. Why do they need that? Just seems grossly impractical to me. But it's a game, so realism is stupid.

So I've been playing this game called Star Conflict recently and I must say that for a F2P game (and even some non-F2P games) it's pretty dang good. At first glance it looks like one of those not-really-games that have war or space themes (think "Mafia Wars"), but when you get past the somewhat ridiculous name and sometimes-poor wording (the devs are Russian, so it's forgivable), you find a game that actually puts you in the cockpit (well technically the view is third-person, but still) of your own custom spaceship as you blow away other players in lobby(ish)-based combat scenarios.
Even though you can buy certain ships with real money, there really isn't a noticeable difference between them and a fully-leveled ship of the same class and tier. The number and design of the ships you can pilot is quite impressive as well (and the game is actually still in beta); from the quick and structurally weak Interceptors to the all-rounder Fighters and finally the slow, lumbering Frigates that'll rip you to shreds if you can't outmaneuver them. There is a secondary currency that can only be bought with real money, but the only things it does are a) get you access to equipment faster and b) let you purchase cosmetic upgrades. I'd definitely suggest at least checking it out if you enjoy space fighter games. It's also on Steam.
Here's a short bit of in-game footage:

Okay, this being a mech forum and whatnot, I'm seriously surprised that this hasn't been brought up yet. Behold: HAWKEN.
It operates on a F2P model, so I don't recommend it until it's out of Steam Early Access. I got into the beta probably over half a year ago and only just decided to try it out when they sent me a Steam Key a few days ago, but I've had so much fun with it. The only thing you absolutely have to use the secondary currency for is cosmetics, and it takes quite a bit of playing to earn enough of the primary currency to buy much of anything gameplay-altering. That being said, I still wouldn't call it "grinding" since that implies a mindless fun-sucking experience. For me, it's still fun to work towards different mechs (and they do call them "mechs" for all you "mecha" people ) and gear because the game itself is fun to play. It's ridiculously immersive, too. The cockpit is detailed without restricting your view too much and the movement feels stompy and real. I'd definitely give it a look if/when you can get it free.

Just wanted to pop in and say zomg yiss Hawken so good.
Seriously, you guys have just got to try it out. It's F2P on Steam right now, still on Early Access but it runs flawlessly for me. It also doesn't suffer from the issues that can be associated with other online versus multiplayer games, ie. making one player stand out from the rest as incredibly OP. Even in the starter mech you've got a good enough stats that you can take out mechs a tier above you. I mostly attribute this to the very nice matchmaking system they've incorporated, as well as just general balance.
The customization is likely going to feel restrictive and pricey for you guys, as you're used to just building mechs as you please. However, if you play for an hour, you get 500 Meteor credits for cosmetics and 2000 regular credits to go towards mechs and weapons, a really nice boost to get you on your way. I've only purchased a digital desert camo skin for my primary assault mech, and I've still got some left over for other things.
So yeah, I highly suggest you try Hawken out! If you haven't already, add me on Steam..

So I recently found this free game called "Robocraft" in the process of being Greenlit on Steam (basically Indie devs submit their games for review and eventual acceptance to be sold on Steam). It looked like a really cool concept to me, so I visited the website and quickly downloaded the Alpha (it's not a large file at all). I expected to be disappointed. You know the deal: they call it F2P and then you play a bit and constantly get dominated by Unicorns. But what I found was pure, unbridled, crazy, ludicrous, mad fun. The only things that cannot be acquired with in-game currency are cosmetic items (currently only light trails and decals with flags of various countries). But I'm getting ahead of myself. Watch this video:
So basically, the game is just what that video shows: you build a custom land or air vehicle from the ground up (starters are provided in all three "Garages"), slap some guns on it, and then throw it in a 12v12 TDM/CTB madhouse of insanity. And it's great. My only complaint comes from the people who float themselves with helium tanks up to the "roof" of the map and snipe, but if your team has a ground-based sniper, you can count on them going down quick. And from what I hear, the devs don't like that tactic either, so I fully expect them to do something about it before release.
Other than that, every time I die, I feel like it was my fault. With all the half-baked AAA titles like BF4 floating around right now where you can't be sure half the time why you died backed into a corner with nobody in sight, it's very refreshing. And besides that, every time you die, you not only learn how to counter the enemy's tactics, but you can then go and make your machine better too. Having trouble dealing with a rolling wall of guns? Grab some mortar-type weapons next time and blast them right off. After all, just a rolling wall isn't much good for long. And besides that, each piece is assigned a certain numerical value; go above a set total cap and you end up in the next tier. It's a very simple balance system, but it works and it makes the game just that much more fun.
TL;DR, Try this game if you like robots and Minecraft and guns. Or Mindstorms. And shoot "Klushots" a friend request if you do.
