Forum Changes - Immediate and Upcoming (Please Read)

So I was wandering around the forum today, and it hit me that we haven't changed the forum structure in quite a while. So I took the liberty of changing the name colors. Tell me what you think; if people despise it, I'll change it back.

I'd also like to know if there are any changes you guys would like to see, as I value community input. Nothing too crazy, mind you, but if there's something you think needs improvement, or something minor that I can add, feel free to let me know here.

As one final thing, I'll be ranking a few of you up as I see fit, but if I miss one of you and you think you deserve a rank-up, please PM me and I'll take care of it.

*A mob shows up outside your house carrying torches and pitchforks, demanding that you change the colors back*

Right now I'm just fine with the color change.

Other changes? Well, we were discussing earlier how nice it would be to have a waffle maker in the lobby... Hmm... I'm not sure if it's possible, but how would it work to have a way to post LDD files on here? It's a tiny bit troublesome to post a brand new creation on MOCpages for every little thing like that. But hey, if that's not an option, that's fine.

As for other changes, i would like to suggest that in the rule against double posting you substitute "double" with "Triple"

Instead of that, I should probably put a clarification that it's okay to double post, so long as you wait 24 hours between posts.

EDIT: Actually, that rule is already there. I'm going to be cracking down on people who don't pay attention to this.

I did say so before, it's in the rules. I haven't repeated it, as I assumed everyone read the rules carefully enough to pick that part out. And I kinda doubt it would affect the "dead"-ness of this place, which as I've stated before, it's never really dead, only in deep hibernation.

I have a question. How does one go about becomming a Legendary member? The reason I'm asking is that Arik and I both have over 200 posts and our sole Legendary member, JakTheMad, has only 63. So... How does one go about becomming a Legendary?

I don't know the exact answer for sure obviously, but I bet I can figure it out.

Pretty simply, the "legendary member" rank is defined by qualities other than number of posts. Posts have ranks like Technician, Grease Monkey, etc., and therefore don't need a second set of ranks as well.

So, how do you get the "legendary" rank? By all appearances, it's an assigned rank instead of one earned at a certain point by doing certain things. My best guess, Bio and Jak formed a mutual alliance with each other, due to the biased feelings against those that were more handsome, superior LEGO builders, or better at posting than them, keeping all but themselves at a lesser rank because of this.

As Arik so aptly suggested, the colored ranks have nothing to do with post count, I've set that up to be auto-switching. The colors indicate your experience with the forum, such as how well you are trusted, how much people like you, etc. You're meant to be able to approach people with darker names as they'll either be more friendly or have been around longer and more often than anyone else.

Thinking about it, both of you are probably the most qualified to have a rank-up, so I see no reason to not promote you to Legendary. PM me with a couple reasons why you think you deserve a rank up, and I'll get around to issuing it. In the future, I'll be issuing rank-ups on the basis of PMs only, instead of choosing people who I think deserve it. If you're happy at your rank, you're free to keep it. If you feel you deserve a bump up, PM me and we'll talk.
