| Hey there, folks. I never post any photos of WIP builds or the dozens of one-off designs that never get submitted or that are eventually scrapped outright. I'm going to keep an archival thread to show off new builds that are still in the beta stage, as well as to have a home for all my miscellaneous builds that don't really merit an MOC Pages entry. For the first one-off, I made some tweaks to my Cardinal MOC and generated the Cardinal Custom, a variant that is decidedly more to my liking. The modifications aren't super-drastic; this isn't a Full Armor or High Mobility overhaul but it certainly isn't a stock Cardinal either. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I also built a trio of one-offs that don't fit the GSX style, but that I was particularly proud of. The first one is a more-abstract unit with a new middle torso design that I was fiddling around with. I gave it a rack on the tail to hold a rifle, but have yet to design any armaments for it (classic GSX weapons are not compatible with this thing). [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] This big red fella' was originally inspired by the Vagan MS of Gundam AGE, but the building process took off in an entirely different direction and now it thoroughly resembles a big, chunky Western mech. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] While designing a spiritual successor to the Nightmare Avis, I built a working prototype that looks like it would be right at home in the cadre of Banpresto Originals designed for the SRW series. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] This little red machine was an attempt to make a new mass-production aquatic AF. I didn't feel it met quality standards, but I liked it enough to keep it around on my hard drive. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Since I did basically fail to produce a new aquatic unit for the GSX Revival Series, I did start work on one. Then I stopped work on one. I don't know why I haven't revisited it, but I admit that aquatic propulsion systems are stupid hard to design because traversing a fluid medium is distinctly different from flying through a gaseous one. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] This happy little guy was a prototype GSX entry that I refitted into an Armored Core-style arena fighter. It's still a candidate for the GSX line, but I can't think of a niche for it to fill. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I also tried building an AF with experimental energy shield projection equipment. I tossed the idea out the door and never went any further than this prototype. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] In an effort to build more visually-abstract MOCs, I revisited a very old design from around late 2007 and turned it into this. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Abstract building is not my forte (no pun intended), but I've tried to work outside of my comfort zone. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I also put together one'a those AEGAKS machines just for grins and giggles. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Experimented with new and unique legs types... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] That's all I've got for now. I'll do some more later, but I haven't been in the mood to build recently for personal reasons that I am reluctant to disclose. This is Big Black, signing off. | |

| They all look quite nice, Forte. Definitely feeling the extra effort you're putting into variation. The last one is my favorite though. Keep it up. | |

| nice work, Forte! I'd agree with Bio. I'm definitely seeing variation. my favorite would probably be the AEGAKS-y unit (is that your first minifig-scale manned Mech, by the way?), though I also like the last two. | |

| Great MOC's Forte! I think the one with the knight helmet looks really cool. Oh btw, the scale up version of your Vandal isn't progressing too well. I have a really hard time figuring out a way for the feet to be bigger in scale, but not too different from the original in shape. (I'm not too active at the moment but, I'll be back...) I've also got a lot of prototypes and scrapped projects myself, so I might show them for you guys sometime. | |

| Hey folks! Just a quick workshop update to show off what I've been tinkering on as of late. I've been building some experimental MOCs while sussing out the three latest GSX Revival Series kits. This piece is a Western-styled artillery walker. I don't ordinarily dig these, so I forced myself to finish it and try to make some neat and gritty. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Greenie's got a big brother that I finally colored in that lovely titanium shade. I actually really like this thing, despite it not being very Gundam-esque. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] This cream-colored mech is based on my Stradivarius design. I'd found a neat arm-mounted cannon design on MOCPages and refined it to give it some more definition. As a note, this photo's been touched up in an editor; I only wish this shade of violet existed. >_>; [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Everyone loves fried chicken, so help yourselves to some legs! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] And speaking of legs, this blue machine has a brand new experimental leg design that I was trying out to see how compact I could make a double-jointed knee. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Finally, here's a sneak peek at the latest GSX Revival Series AF. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| Hey, Forte? You still active here?
Well, if you still take custom AF orders and aren't terribly busy, I have something that might interest you.

| What have you got in mind? I'm rediscovering my inspirations after a very long summer of doing nothing. Trying to get out of a slump after a pretty heavy family tragedy. | |

| You're probably not gonna be very happy with me saying this, but I've sorta forgotten what I was gonna ask... Also, I have a somewhat unimportant question if you have the time. To fulfill a long-time curiosity I've had nearly since I first saw your Mechs, do the transparent pieces you commonly have all over the bodies of your Mechs have any specific function (i.e. lights, sensors, maybe weapons, etc.)? Or is it just sort of a personal artistic preference you have? I've found myself liking them and considering trying something similar myself, but wanted to know what their true purpose was so I wasn't simply imitating something I know nothing about. Likewise, this is also probably a request to ask if I can use your idea on my own models. | |

The miscellaneous clear parts are typically used to convey optics, yes. If the part matches the visor/eye color or if it's where the optics ought to be on a firearm, then it's just additional cameras. Also, more WIPs... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| Gotcha, that makes sense.
And I love the new Mechs. I think the first one's hips could be slimmed down (though its weapon is my favorite of all of these), and I'm not sure what to think about the beefed-up dark grey one. Also, I LOVE the shoulder/back weapons on that purple one (third from bottom). Above anything else, you have a great talent for making shoulder and back weapons..

Also, more WIPs... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] The white one is sick. I'd like to see it's LDD file.

| Awesome WIPs Forte! As expected. The last two WIPs are my favorite, especially the green one with the bad a** carbine, pure epic! | |

| The bulked-up grey one is now complete and it's taken off in a new direction. I will also happily provide .LXFs for these once I prep them for MOCPages gallery entries. Some of these WIPs aren't fleshed out enough yet, and some of them have had minor changes made. I'm probably going to reduce the number of transparent pieces on the sand blue AF and repaint it in order to bring it in line with the rest of the series (It's actually a transforming fan MS, Gundam 00-style). I'm also going to refine some older designs I never finished or posted and add them to the catalog eventually. In other news, have a batch of new developments. As a note, the Varanus and Corsaire Kai have been modified. You won't be able to see most of the Corsaire's mods because they're all in the thrust bodies in the back, and Varanus just got some changes made to its arms and hip skirts. The Sabretooth has had a very dramatic overhaul by comparison. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
